Another Day in Dar es Salaam
We have a series of photographs from just another day in Dar es Salaam. These photographs were taken from the city in a single day to help us understand the daily lives of the region better.
Dar es Salaam started as fishing village in the mid 19th century, it is now Tanzania’s largest city. This multicultural city is home to African Tanzanians, Arabic and South Asian communities, British and German expatriates, Catholics, Lutherans and Muslims. The Diversity is reflected in its international cuisine featuring Tanzanian barbeques, Zanzibar cuisine, Oriental and also American. It is generally seen as a must stop on the way to Zanzibar. The place can be described by its harbours, chaotic markets, beautiful beaches and historic buildings.
